Harbor Designs & Manufacturing announces its partnering with Specialized Engineered Products in providing engineering and manufacturing resources to international auto manufacturers. SEP is a tier one supplier of mutilation protection systems designed specifically to protect cars, trucks and SUVs working their way down the assembly lines from nicks and dings. Doesn’t sound like a big deal? Try telling that to the 52 auto plants located in the US alone who stand to loose by one manufacturers estimate $11 million dollars per plant per year fixing them. Harbor and SEP are working with manufacturing plants all over the country to decrease in-line mutilation in innovative ways. We manufacture reusable custom protectors which are form fitting to the specific model and area of cars they are meant to protect. Ranging from innovative foam and cloth products to hard formed protectors, we also cover tools, robots, and the watches and belt buckles of the people who work with them.

Have a problem that might benefit from a custom mutilation protection product? Contact one of Harbor Designs & Manufacturing’s knowledgeable sales associates today!

FiberCell Systems has been a long time client and partner to Harbor Designs and news has just come to us that one of the products we manufacture for them is due to be launched into space on NASA’s second to last space shuttle flight. Space shuttle mission STS-134 is to deliver critical components to the International Space Station as well as research equipment for experiments to be carried out in zero gravity.

As a recognized leader in cell culture systems, the mission specialists have selected FiberCell System’s Duet Hollow Fiber Bio-Reactor to generate the cells they intend to use in their experiments. FiberCell’s hollow fiber technology mimics the natural growth environment of cells in the mammalian circulatory system providing a structure for the cells to grow on. As a result the system grows far healthier and natural cells and cell products and at a significantly increased rate then was previously possible. More healthier cells means more experiments in less time with clearer results. Add to the fact that the Duet Bio-Reactor is a completely closed system which will keep media fluids inside, preventing them from floating around and damaging the spacecraft and its clear why FiberCell was chosen.

Congrats to our friends at Fibercell and thanks for trusting us to design and manufacturing this cutting edge product.

For more information on how the Duet Hollow Fiber Bio-Reactor works, see our case study page or click here: www.fibercellsystems.com
